How To Be Fearless With Your Style

Standout piece

I’m sharing the big secret right away - there is no such thing as being fearless.

I’m not fearless when it comes to being bold with my style–I just do it afraid. Yep, the number one way to be fearless with your style is embrace the fear and do it anyway.

TBH, I was actually kinda terrified to wear this outfit out in public. A neon blazer?! Distressed denim Bermuda shorts? A crop top at my age? AND glittery, multi-colored heels to top it all off?! I mean that’s just crazy!!

Only it’s not.

I only think it’s crazy because of the story I’m telling myself about what other people will think of me when I wear it. And that story stems from a fear of others judging me, laughing at me, or making fun of me based on past experiences.

The only way to get rid of this fear, break the cycle and push stop on that story I’m telling myself is to WEAR THE DAMN OUTFIT ANYWAY.

The best way to release fear is to take action. So I did. I took a baby step and wore it to pick my pup up from the vet.

And guess what? After a few minute, the nerves and anxiety went away and I started feeling powerful, confident, and, frankly, a little badass too!

(And hey, I even got a compliment on my shoes!)

By pushing through my fear, I built myself up instead of keeping myself small to please other people.

Will you make that commitment to do the same with me?

Drop a ‘hell yes’ in the comments along with one standout piece in your closet that you’ll step out and wear the damn thing anyway. #wearthedamnthinganyway

ABOUT:

I'm a Minneapolis personal stylist on a mission to eradicate outdated style 'rules' so women can unleash themselves in all their beautiful, authentic glory!

I offer personal styling services that empower women to wear what they love by helping them ditch any outdated style rules keeping them stuck, showing them how to dress in a way that embraces their beautiful body and, the key to it all, having fun! I believe in a liberated style approach so there are no style rules, body shapes, seasonal colors or dos and don’ts given out here. Rather, I help my clients tap into what lights them up and dress with the purpose of expressing their authentic selves rather than impressing others.

This is all done through a combination of styling services (including wardrobe edits, shopping trips and styling sessions) available in thoughtfully curated styling packages designed to help clients unleash their true self through the power of style.

When I'm not helping women take back their power style, you can find me reading (about a gazillion books at once), learning the art of pole dancing, making & decorating cakes, binging a random circa 2000's TV show with my hubby, Aaron, while playing with my adorable rescue pup or, of course, shopping! :-)
